Lancashire radio station 107 The Bee is celebrating the Bank Holiday weekend by broadcasting live from a local music festival. The station first supported 'Darwen Live' during its trial broadcast in 2001 and this year will see The Bee presenters host the whole event.

Simon Brierley, station manager told RadioToday.co.uk: "We’re broadcasting from back stage throughout the Bank Holiday weekend with exclusive acoustic performances from many of the acts including “The Animals & Friends” and “Dave Finnegan’s Commitments.

"Our presenters are also fronting the event, which will be seen and heard by around 30,000 music fans. It’s our most ambitious outside broadcast to date and places us at the heart of our local community – exactly where we want to be. East Lancashire has a vibrant local music scene and it’s great for us to bee involved in it.

The station website has seen over 1500 votes for who listeners think is the best band to be performing during the event.
